12/08/2024When financial advisors speak with clients about approaching the end of their working lives, they often say they wish they could go back several decades and establish better financial structures.
That’s why, when you have started to establish yourself in your career of choice and earn significant income, one of the smartest things you can do is to:
- Get clear about your life goals – what you want to achieve in your career, whether you want a family, and how many children you want to have
- Establish your housing preferences – including where you want to live and whether you want to buy or rent. Do you want investment properties?
- Decide when you want to retire – and what kind of lifestyle you want to enjoy
All are goals you need to establish and the sooner you do, the better. Once you know the direction you want your life to take, you can create a financial strategy to help you achieve it as efficiently as possible.
Remember that a financial strategy is never set in stone – as your life circumstances change, so does your strategy. This flexibility ensures that your plan remains relevant and effective. Without a plan, you’ll find it much harder to take action and move in the right direction. Which is what many clients realise when it’s too late.
Need a strategy and want to understand your options? Let’s discuss it.
